Here at What Ink we have been developing a solution to help customers easily compare prices on printer ink products.  Our aim is to provide accurate price comparisons for the widest possible range of printer consumables including inks, toners, fuser units and a whole range of other products. Our What Ink UK web site has just launched in test mode.  During our test we hope to get valuable customer feedback on how to improve our price comparison service.

To provide a wide range of price comparisons we take a number of product feeds from a variety of retailers that provide printer inks and consumables.  Our custom built classification algorithm then attempts to correctly classify each printer product.  Our heuristic algorithm constantly improves the classification of products by monitoring how users interact with the web site.

As our classification system improves we’re adding more and more products to the site with the aim of having the most comprehensive price comparisons service for printer ink.  We currently classify printer inks for over 20 makers of printer including Brother, HP, Epson and Xerox.

Our technology team are constantly monitoring the performance of our price comparisons and adding new products on a daily basis.  We hope that in the coming months we will provide the best available price comparison service for printer products.
